A fevered dream of human aggression and brutality. The illusion of racial difference is underscored by painting all flesh the grey color of the earth, as in the meaning of the biblical name of Adam—meaning from the earth. The high saturated color of the river alludes to the geothermal fields of Dallol, Ethiopia, where nothing can live.
